Licensed & Catering News Awards

Highlights from LCNAwards 2015

Since 2009, the Licensed & Catering News Awards have been recognised as the pinnacle of achievement by all those in the hospitality sector.

A glittering gala evening in Belfast represents the culmination of a rigorous and independent judging process aimed at identifying and rewarding the best examples of innovation and professionalism in every section of the trade.

The very best Hotels, restaurants, tourist attractions, pubs, clubs, take-aways and guest houses are all among the winners on our gala evening. And one individual, whose contribution to the successful development of the hospitality or leisure sectors has been exemplary, is always honoured with the presentation of the LCN Lifetime Achievement Award. In previous years, this accolade has gone to hoteliers, Sir Billy Hastings and Francis Brady and veteran publicans, Patsy Lavery and Danny Rice.

Routinely sold-out, the LCN Awards gala evening is the major event in the annual calendar for Northern Ireland’s hospitality sector. Hundreds of guests are in attendance including owners and managers from venues all over the country; decision-makers from the province’s leading food and drink suppliers and rank-and-file members of local hospitality and tourism trades.

The event, which attracts sponsorship from many of the most recognisable and prestigious brands in the sector, is a glittering finale complete with live music and dancing, special guests and an atmosphere that no other trade event in the local calendar can match.

The awards evening is the objective of the hundreds of venues and individuals who participate in the LCN Awards each year. Their place at the awards is no accident. They will have won their way through a testing process of independent assessment undertaken by Spotcheck NI and to win a place at the finals is confirmation that the very highest standards of service and presentation have been achieved.

The Licensed & Catering News Awards are a truly unmissable event, both for those chasing honours and for those after a great night out among friends and colleagues. Recognised as such by the trade across Northern Ireland, its future as the leading industry event of the year is assured.
