Now the longest running trade journal in Northern Ireland, Licensed & Catering News (LCN) has been an effective trade platform and the industry’s most trusted advocate since 1940.
LCN’s A3 hard copy edition is published 10 times every year and enjoyed by a wide and diverse readership of hoteliers, restaurateurs, bar owners, caterers and tourism operators at all levels.
Offering an easily accessible blend of insight, news, interviews, venue spotlights and picture coverage, LCN is valued for its professional reporting and informative comment.
In January each year, LCN produces its A4 Yearbook edition in which we look in detail at the personalities behind the local trades and listen to their opinions on the issues and challenges of the day. The Yearbook includes a comprehensive trade directory and brand index.

The Licensed & Catering News Gala Awards
In June every year, LCN hosts NI’s most prestigious awards event for the hospitality trade.
The LCN Gala Awards take place in Belfast when more than 450 members of the local industry – including many key figures and decision-makers – recognise the very best people and places that local hospitality has to offer.
These independent local awards celebrate every aspect of the hospitality industry in Northern Ireland. Venues and individuals in the hotel, catering, bar and fast food sectors are recognised for their professionalism and hard work during a fantastic evening of entertainment and excitement that has now become a ‘must attend’ event on the trade’s social calendar.
Freely entered and independently and rigorously assessed, these awards are seen by the industry as an essential acknowledgement of the very highest standards of customer experience.
Only those at the very top of their game will take home an LCN trophy.
